Went and took pictures for Jesse, one of the kids in Sunday school. Matthew was getting grumpy standing around so Jesse put his shades on him and we stuck him on the bike.. He was happy afterward.

organized

Lei and her mom went out the weekend to find someway to organize Matthew's toys. After his birthday and Christmas they have been out of control! So they went to Ikea and found these neat little shelves that allows you to use different size buckets to store things in. Its actually two put back to back and yes Matthew has already kicked everything off the top and climbed up the stairs. Its solid wood so its pretty sturdy.

While we where organizing mode we decided it was time for Matthew to get his own bed and found a nice solid wood bed on Craigslist. He is so excited to have his " big boy" bed and loves to climb in and out. I was expecting to find him on the floor playing with his toys the first night we let him sleep, but to my surprise he stayed in it the past two nights!

After a long day of work, he was tuckered out and fell asleep mid meal.

power windows

With school going again I've been really trying to balance my time at home between homework, work, and especially Matthew. so every day, after doing a little work in the morning I try to take him out for a walk or bike ride, if the weather permits. Today we kicked the soccer ball around and then we worked on cleaning up our Honda. Well, mostly i cleaned and Matthew played with the windows. In the pics below he had his head to far out once and it caught him off guard and clipped his nose, it was hilarious and i was excited i caught it on camera.

Dippin our toes

Never been a big fan of cold weather, so its been a rough month or so. (That and we all got sick with some yucky virus) But one nice thing about Texas is that winter doesn't last very long. Today the sun was out and a beautiful 75 degrees outside and on our afternoon walk we decided to dip our feet in the pool. Not realizing the water hasn't had enough time to warm up yet, we stuck our feet in the freezing cold water. Matthew had a blast kicking and splashing and even wanted to jump all the way in. He's a nut! You can see the fun in the video below. I didn't feel like editing so its a wonderful 8 minutes of fun.

New years

We still can't believe 2009 is over and we are starting a brand new year. Who knows what kinda surprises lay ahead for us in 2010, and i cant wait to find out!

We had a fun New years eve with the Weissman's, who is one of the families that Lei tutors for. They live out in Bridgeland and they had a great time with them. Fireworks are prohibited in their neighborhood but one of their neighbors across the pond didn't care and blasted of a ton of big aerials that made for a great show. Matthew was in bed by about 10 and me and lei stayed up and watch the New years eve shows and the fireworks from our window.

Today we took it pretty easy, spent some time enjoying the beautiful clear skies. Matthew got to play with some Poppers and finally got another try on his skuut bike. He's still figuring out the balancing part and still would rather me push him but i think he's getting the hang of it.

Our Christmas

It was a very Merry Christmas for us this year. Great weather, although it was almost freezing, at least the sun was out to warm us up a little. We did have a late start since Matthew was so excited on Christmas eve that he didn't go to sleep till almost 12! Lucky for him, and us :D he didn't wake up until almost 10am, thank goodness. This being Matthews 3rd Christmas, and not long after his birthday, he was a pro at unwrapping his presents. We spent the morning at home relaxing together, Skyped with the Gellerts in Hawaii which was awesome. Then we made our way to Lei's mom and opened more presents there and ate our Christmas lunch. And Matthew got to test out his new Scuut bike that Santa brought him. He needs to grow another inch or two to be really stable on the bike by himself but he did great for his first time and had a blast.

Later, after a our afternoon nap we, along with Grandma Helen, took Matthew to his first movie at the theaters, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. He did really well sitting and watching the whole movie, although he did mess with the persons seat in front of us twice. but other than that. he did great. the movie was great too, really funny and entertaining.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday and we wish you a Happy New Year!
